About the Program

The Master of Computer Applications (MCA) is a two year, four semester, fulltime, campus-based program, with a view to impart the students an in-depth academic base in IT and hands-on skills in computer applicati ons so that they can build an advanced career in IT. The program covers cutti ng-edge technology inputs as well as provides IT skills in programming and application development, as per industry requirements.

    • Pass in Graduati on (10+2+3 or 10+2+4) in any discipline with 40% and above aggregate marks.
  • The MCA Program covers 31 courses spread over 2 years in 4 semesters, besides soft skills labs, IT labs, project and Summer Internship. The MCA Program is structured to help the students to achieve the learning objectives in three stages spread over two years.
    Stage 1-Foundati on Courses: The program will begin with a series of foundation courses which will cover the basics of computers.
    Stage 2-Tools & Techniques: During this stage the students will be imparted indepth knowledge of various tools and techniques with reference to computer applicati ons.
    Stage 3-Integrative Courses: At the fi nal stage, the course will take an interdisciplinary and integrati ve approach to the subject of computer applicati ons in business.

  • During the 3rd & 4th semesters, students are exposed to elective courses in the respecti ve fi eld of specializati on. These electi ve courses provide an understanding of the specialized focus fields. Each student is required to select four electi ve courses out of a basket of courses in areas like Databases, Systems, Programming, Soft ware Engineering, Inter-disciplinary areas and business applicati ons.

  • Successful students will receive the MCA degree from the University, subject to University Regulations.
