Objectives

To provide students with opportunities to apply the concepts learnt in the classroom to real life situations. To sensitize students to the nuances of a workplace by assigning time bound projects in a company. To provide students a platform to work and develop a network which will be useful to further their career prospects.

Industry Interaction

The University consciously encourages industry interaction with a wide cross-section of professionals in the industry. Summer projects, industry interaction programs, seminars, etc., organized in association with the industry offer students an opportunity to exhibit their organizational and communication skills, analytical abilities and awareness of contemporary issues to leading recruiters.

Careers

The training and placement wing at the University looks after the training and placement activities on a continuing basis. Staffed by senior professionals and placement executives, the team initiates and maintains the University-Industry dialogue and manages the summer internship program and final placement activities. The team evaluates student performance levels and ensures relevant preparation for their corporate placements. Working both at the supply and demand sides of the placement, the team plays the vital intermediary role of matching academic excellence and industry expectations and counseling the students appropriately. The Summer Internship Program is an attempt to bridge the gap between the professional world and the academic institutions.   • MBA and M.Com graduates will have opportunities to work in public and private sector firms involved in both manufacturing and service functions or can become an entrepreneur.

The following organizations provide career opportunities for the fresh graduates.

  • Finance: National and Multi- National Banks; Credit Rating Agencies; Insurance Companies; Trading and Broking Firms and Other Financial Service Firms etc.
  • Marketing: Sales and Marketing departments in both national and multi-national firms; Advertisement Agencies; Event Management Companies etc.
  • Human Resource Management: HR departments in National and Multi-National Companies; Recruitment & Training Agencies; Counseling and Career Development firms etc.
  • Operations Management: Production, Distribution and Logistics departments in both manufacturing and service organizations.
  • Ph.D students can pursue their careers in academics and research. B.Tech students have abundant opportunities in IT sector, manufacturing companies, corporates and banks or can become an entrepreneur.
  • BBA students are absorbed at appropriate management levels in manufacturing, marketing services, BPOs, Import/Export organisations, HRM, IT and Systems.
  • B.Com (Hons.) degree leads to opportunities for employment in banking, financial services and insurance industries, IT enabled serviced and corporates. The degree holders are also eligible for pursuit of higher studies leading to MCom, Chartered Accountancy, Financial Analysis, Cost Accountancy or MBA.
  • BCA students can seek entry level careers in the areas such as management information systems, data base management systems, system analysis and design; internet, software engineering; e-business; enterprise resource planning, computer network, internet applications, portals, web-enabled services, business process outsourcing etc.
  • Diploma in Technology (Polytechnic) students will have career options in IT sector, manufacturing companies, corporates etc.
  • In addition, all students have the option of pursuing higher studies or teaching at appropriate levels.

  • The University believes that the entire placement exercise is a joint effort between the University and the students.
  • While the University provides guidance, support and network with potential employers, the students have the responsibility to put in the maximum possible efforts to obtain suitable placements.
  • Placements depend upon not only the performance of student at degree level but also on previous academic record.
